This
is a 63 year old female who had a traditional open
facelift done elsewhere two years prior. She was dissatisfied
with her neck. She requested another facelift to tighten
her more. Because her skin is thin and she has a significant
amount of fat atrophy, a repeated open traditional
facelift with pulling of the skin to the side will
undoubtedly caused her to have the 'lateral sweep'
look or the 'wind tunnel" look. Note that she
also had aggressive removal of fat pads around her
eyes which made her look hollowed out and gaunt. Fat
was placed in her brow, upper eyelids, cheeks and
lips to support the skin, then a cautious open facelift
was performed to resect the remaining skin laxity.
The post-operative photos were taken 1 year after
the operation.
